What better way to celebrate the Dodgers’ World Series victory with a parade, one that you drive through yourself? Dodgers Holiday Festival is essentially a victory parade paired with festive holiday lights and displays. For Dodger fans, this is an opportunity to revel in the winning spirit and celebrate their champions. For holiday light seekers, you get a bonus Dodgers display showcase on top of the holiday decor and lights.
For guests that have never been to the Dodger stadium at night time, they would get a treat of the DTLA skyline in the queue line while waiting to get into the actual drive-through festival. Once you approach the arches, you will see a sign reminding the world that they are the “World Series Champions” along with an associate draped out in Dodger gear greeting you. As you pass through different areas of the drive-through experience; you’ll notice that they alternate between the holidays and the Dodgers.
On the surface, it may seem like just a holiday lights drive-through with some Dodger props and decor. False. This was basically a celebration and a party that you drive through; everything was done in a very big fashion including the bobbleheads. Yes, the player’s bobbleheads were on the route along with cutouts of the team. A real bobblehead greeted us as we exited the section with the rest of the bobbleheads (see photos). A KOST 103.5 FM customized soundtrack played throughout the experience, commercial free. There were greeters all throughout the experience decked out in Dodger gear, there was a DJ, and even live singers who sang along to the music that’s synced to your radio.
Since there were so many great big things, what stood out for us? In random order, here is what’s most memorable: Replaying clips from the winning moment of the world series, Hanukkah with a sizable section, the row of life-sized bobbleheads, a real bobblehead-person, the larger than championship rings, Santa’s plane, Santa Claus, and last but not least: a set decor that recreated Sir Elton John at Dodgers Stadium!
This was definitely a “pack the car” type of event. The line flows slowly enough so you can capture images of this historic event. Never have we’ve seen a sports franchise put on a holiday light drive-through show. This may or may not happen again so we urge you to check them out especially if you are a sports fan.
