Sawdust Winter Fantasy 2021

The Sawdust Winter Fantasy Festival of Arts returned to spread cheer and showcase local talent in south Orange County. A much needed event especially for this season; the Sawdust Winter Fantasy Festival has always been a fixture and a tradition in south county.

Just like clockwork, the gates opened up to their magical Christmas “Town Square” where you would find their seasonal decorations and photo-ops. In this area you’ll find: Christmas trees with unique decorations from the affiliated charities, Santa’s sleigh for photos, a gingerbread house for the kiddos, a romantic gazebo, nutcracker soldiers, snowfall and of course the Jolly Fat Man himself.

For those that are not into art but simply want to get into the festive mood or have children that want to meet Santa Claus; this is a place where you can have that. This alone is worth the price of admission which costs anywhere from $5 to $10 depending on age group. The line to meet Santa Claus is no longer than what you would find at the mall. The difference is, there is no option to purchase a photo package but you may take free photos on your phones or cameras.

If you are into art, then you can expect the same great vendors that offer a variety of unique masterpieces not sold in stores. What we did notice this year was a tiny pull back in Christmas and Holiday art. However, there was still plenty to see and do to make the trip and admission worthwhile.

If you just want a joyful place to hang out and enjoy a meal or some refreshments that’s semi-private; you may do so here as well. Plus, there is always live music here. Think of it as a private club where you get both the ambiance and the option to walk around and do some Holiday shopping. We definitely make this a tradition of ours to stop here at least once a year. You never know what exclusive and unique item will catch your eye here.
