Sugar Plum’s Holiday Festival provided the much needed gateway for Halloween fans transitioning into the Thanksgiving and Christmas mode. Oftentimes, we hear that Thanksgiving is skipped or overlooked and everyone goes straight into Christmas. Though that may be predominantly true; Sugar Plum Festivals offers plenty of spirit from each of those 3 holidays and enough of Thanksgiving to fill the void.
As avid Halloween fanatics, it is not easy to go through withdrawals especially in a year with an asterisk alongside it. With many canceled attractions, events and festivities; there’s only so many holiday events remaining and the future outlook may not be pretty either. Thankfully, the people of OC at least have Sugar Plum Festivals to look forward to, at least to get their holiday fix at.
What’s loved about this festival is the no-pressure approach system that they’ve instilled into all their festivals. Each vendor/merchant has his/her own space as do most other arts & crafts shows. However, the majority of the time, the vendor isn’t at the booth. Which means: no feeling bad for not buying, no feeling pressured to buy, no one overcrowding you. Take as long as you’d like to look at the product, if you like it, then just grab it and pay at the cashier like any department store.
So what do they sell? You can find literally everything. Each vendor has its own uniqueness and specialty items. Most are hand-made goods that definitely seemed like stuff you can’t really find anywhere else. We noticed some of the following gifts you can get for your loved ones: decorated snacks, spices, coffee, bread, custom wreaths, blankets, Halloween decor/gifts, Thanksgiving and Autumn related gifts, Christmas related gifts, toys, fashion accessories, custom-made clothing, Disney stuff that you can’t buy elsewhere and more. What we loved most are the sweets that are decorated in the form of a Turkey and other Holiday characters. See our photos!
It seemed like a great place to spend time with the family or loved ones. It’s free parking, free entry, and there are food vendors. You are free to browse the entire festival and get a photo op with Frosty in the front without any obligation to buy anything. However, if you do; you would be supporting small businesses and helping ensure their survival. Therefore, you can’t go wrong! We look forward to seeing their Holiday show in December!
